FAQ

Questions?

This is a good place to start.

Do I really need a website even though my business is just starting out? Isn't social media enough?

Although social media is easy to use and mostly free, it is not a suitable replacement for a dedicated website. On sites like Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, you are beholden to their algorithms and lack customization options to make the space truly represent your brand. Additionally, unless you are in the e-commerce or content-creation space, you will rarely find someone who is actively seeking your products/services. With a custom whitelabel website, however, you can get in front of potential buyers when they're most likely to buy: searching the web for [service] in [area]. As a bonus, you get to serve them a beautiful and polished first impression that builds trust in your brand and actually converts. When we build you a website, you receive a durable digital asset that works on your behalf, not at your expense. Claim your corner of the internet with pride.

Do you make e-commerce websites?

As of now, e-commerce websites are beyond our scope. In cases where you are processing payments, handling shopping carts, and maintaining rich product databases, you are better off using a service like Shopify, Squarespace, Stripe or hiring a dedicated team of in-house developers. It is simply too much liability for a small company to take on.

What does "open source" mean and why do you use it?

Open source just means that the general public can view and reuse a software's code. Many developers contribute to open-source projects for fun, to build tools for themselves, or simply to gain experience. Additionally, many for-profit companies release "community" versions of their software to reduce development overhead while a small in-house team maintains a "premium" version of their software with enterprise features, managed hosting, and other niceties for non-technical users. In my case, I host and manage a stack of mostly open-source software to handle database design, website hosting / deployment, automation pipelines, API testing, customer relations management, document e-signatures, email building, and content management. This keeps my overhead low, allows me to undercut my competitors, and keeps your data safe and secure from malicious actors. That said, when it comes to handling sensitive data like accounting or payment details, rest assured I let paid 3rd-party services take on that liability.

What if I am not satisfied with the website/automation you built? Do you offer refunds?

We do not offer refunds; however, when you sign a contract with us, you are entitled to three refinement passes after each product is delivered (website, automation, etc.). To avoid dissatisfaction post-delivery, we customarily check in at various stages of development to ensure we remain aligned on the final vision. In the event you would like to abandon a project mid-development, we will only charge you for the time spent working on it and other incurred costs.

Is this just another AI digital marketing startup delivering buzz words and slop?

No, absolutely not. Although we employ AI models in a limited capacity (primarily for speeding up repetitive internal processes, code reviews, data analysis, idea generation, etc.) the backbone of our work is good old-fashioned deterministic code and hand-written copy. The truth is, while AI models are amazing tools, they are generally inefficient for most automation tasks and lack originality when it comes to creative work. For a website to be truly market-aligned, it should have a unique design and present a coherent, targeted message throughout. For automations, AI models are slow, brittle, tend to produce inconsistent output, and scale horribly. Deterministic code is ultra-fast, reliable, cost-effective, scales how you want it to, and only breaks when you touch it. You be the judge.
